Be the author of your own story
As the new year begins, many of us are filled with the urge to start again, forge new beginnings or make new year resolutions, this year however finds us somewhat limited, the dreadful covid 19 virus has stopped us in our tracks. We really have no idea how long we are going to live this almost dystopian existence, making plans for anywhere outside of our own four walls seems futile. Maybe, just maybe this downtime can be used constructively in our healing work. Even if you have never put pen to paper before (or typed on a blank page) now is a good time to start. I have kept journals for many years and for many reasons, between the pages of which lie my own secret world, words written by me, for me, it doesnt matter how you write, or what you say this is for your eyes only.
If you do not already have one, I urge you to go online and choose something aesthetically pleasing, maybe a fancy pen too! we are going to set aside a little time every week (daily if you want) and indulge our inner muse, I will post journalling prompts if you wish to use them, or perhaps you just want to rant! it is all good I promise you, writing can be so liberating and extremely cathartic.
